Dear Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure to invite you to attend the 23rd Annual Conference of the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN 2010 AC) which will be held in Trento, jointly by the Department of Computer and Management Sciences in the University of Trento and the Italian Chapter of EBEN.The main objective of the conference is to provide an opportunity for academics, PhD students and practitioners to meet together to discuss their preliminary findings and full papers and to further enhance the knowledge and research on business ethics related topics in a very supportive and interactive atmosphere.
In particular during the EBEN AC 2010, researchers and practitioners are invited to present contributions in an attempt to address and analyze the issue Which Values for Which Organisations; namely what are and what should be the ethical values at the core of organisations - for/non profit, SMEs, public companies, banks, multinationals etc. - and how a lack of these values in businesses could be one of the explaining variables of the financial and economic global crisis. Starting from the challenges posed by the current crisis, the aim of the EBEN AC 2010 is to stimulate debate on how business ethics may contribute in overcoming this crisis and to prevent an analogous situation in the future by introducing or reintroducing ethics and common moral principles and values in organisations.
The conference will take place in Trento from Thursday morning to Saturday around noon and on these days there will be two plenary sessions with well known key speakers and numerous parallel sessions. In addition to the conference, delegates and accompanying persons will be offered an attractive social program that will include a sightseeing tour of Trento and other cultural and social events in our host location. Trento is the main town in the Province of Trentino, a region not far from the Dolomites. Apart from the majestic mountains there are numerous lakes, the biggest of which is Lake Garda. Trento is also a centre of art and culture with a characteristic Renaissance touch, and this pleasant and attractive town offers a variety of cultural itineraries which makes it unique in the Alps.
We are looking forward to welcoming all of you to Trento in September 2010.
